This is Not Groupthink!, a newsletter about Critical Thought and the things that matter to me and maybe you too?
I’m going to post this without any edits as I feel it is important to get my first post up now! I welcome any comments
Where do we go from here?
When I say we, I am asking the people of the Western World. Those of us who have Rights which are NOT given to us by anyone. God Given Liberty that every human being on the planet (Yes, even those living under the rule of a fascist or communist dictator).
I always have felt truly blessed that I was born in the United States of America, the "Land of the Free".
I will admit though, there have been many times in my life where I have taken this great blessing for granted.
Growing up in a middle class neighborhood, going to the local public school with the neighborhood kids I grew up with was great. We spent our weekends riding bikes, playing "doorbell ditch", playing at each others' houses, our Moms all talked with each other (with a few who talked about the others') it was safe, I never felt unsafe growing up.
My Mom raised us on her own. My Dad was a WWII USAF Veteran who suffered from "Survivor's Guilt" after the War because he was the only one of his friends who made it back alive. Mom made us go to church on Sundays, taught us to respect our elders, to treat people as we wanted to be treated and taught us that with a good education and hard work we can be successful in life. She disciplined us when we were wrong and did her best to instill morals, integrity, and respect as a foundation for our lives.
He had been married and had a family prior to marrying my Mom. His two sons from the first marriage both proudly served in the USAF in the Vietnam War. Thankfully, they both made it back alive. They were treated like shit when they came home after fighting for our Country in Vietnam. They were vilified for their service to our Country, called baby killers, and worse by the very people whose Freedom and Liberty they fought to protect.
Every limb and branch on my ancestral tree are filled with Veterans, all the way back to the Revolutionary War.
My eleventh great grandfather arrived here on the Mayflower which I only recently discovered and since has given me a sense of pride and a powerful new sense of love and respect for this Great Republic.
Growing up, I was never into politics. I knew my Mom voted, but I didn't really pay attention to what party she voted for, nor the reasons why she voted for them.
I took Civics in High School and while I did the classwork, I never really gave much thought to just how important that class was to me in my adult life. It's truly shameful that Civics is no longer a requirement in our Public Schools, it needs to be put back into the curriculum, in my opinion. It is imperative that our kids understand the U.S. Constitution, and our Bill of Rights before they graduate from High School. I believe this is a major part of what has caused such insane political division here in the States.
Our kids have never learned about the founding of this Republic. How so many have sacrificed their lives to insure that the Freedom and Liberty that they had inherited, would be there for future generations to come. They have not been taught how truly special the USA is. Our Flag represents every American, all of our wonderful diverse citizens who have immigrated here from all over the world, since the founding of our Great Republic.
We are a Great Nation! We are not perfect, but we are willing to face any challenges and do our best to make things better for ALL Americans.
We are Good, Kind, Generous and Loving people. We are the light of hope for so many people in the world, our Unity is our strength.
As I said before, I was never interested in politics growing up, and well into my adulthood. If anything, I would have considered myself to be more liberal than conservative in my beliefs. I love my Country, I am grateful for the Freedom and personal Liberty I enjoy as a U.S. Citizen, and I respect the rights of my fellow citizens, even if I don't agree with them.
That was the extent of my politics.
Until I realized that something was tearing at the very fabric of our Republic. The very things I hold dear to my heart were being attacked. American Citizens who were using Freedom to fight against Freedom. Using their Constitutional Rights against others' using theirs. I was stunned when I actually started to pay attention to what was happening here in the States.
I was blown away by what I saw. I could not believe what I was seeing and felt like a total dumb ass for not paying attention to what was happening to the Country I Love.
I had been so busy just living my life, going to work, hanging out with friends, dealing with my relationships, paying bills and on and on, that I never noticed just how bad things had become.
All of that has changed for me and I will never be the same again.
My Dad, my brothers', my ancestors gave everything to insure that I would live Free. They fought and many died to gaurantee the Liberty in my life as they did in theirs.
I owe my child, her children and all of their descendants that same promise of Freedom and Liberty.
We the People must defend what so many have fought and died for and insure that what we have been so blessed to have been handed down through the blood of our ancestors-Patriotic Americans willing to die that we could be free, is protected for generations to come.
As I watched the events unfold in Canada over the past weeks, I wept. I am so grateful for the men and women who stood up and said No More! The hard working, tax payers who just want to live their lives, raise their families and be happy and free.
I keep an eye on all types of "news". I don't limit myself to mainstream media. I read and watch a diverse group of media outlets to get my information. I am a critical thinker and I don't need anyone to tell me what is "Mis, Dis or Mal" information. I have a brain, I am perfectly capable of discerning truth from lies and propaganda fron reality.
The "Freedom Convoy" in Canada has sparked a world wide awakening. It has provided the people all over the world with a sense of security-United We Stand, divided we fall.
I am so grateful for the Truckers and the millions of Canadians who so courageously lit the Flame of Freedom and showed those who have been too afraid to stand up that they were not alone. There is strength in numbers and holy shit, the strength of the number of the world's people is truly amazing.
The "Honk" heard round the world!
I pray every day for all of the Freedom Fighters in the world. We all must rise and stand against the Globalists who have decided they know better than we do what is best for us and our families. They may be wealthy, but they can not buy our Freedom nor our God Given Rights. They can not take what is not theirs. Our lives, our souls our minds. Our Love for ourselves and our families and our friends and our way of life is OURS.
Ours and ours alone. We can not allow fear to silence us. We can not allow their hatred of us nor their violence against us to destroy us.
The chaos they have manufactured to distract us from what they have been up to needs to be put aside and we must stand together as a United People and say to them: NO!
Think about the sacrifice of those who came before us. Are YOU willing to do what they did for you? Are you willing to die for what you believe? Are you willing to stand up and face whatever comes for what is Right?
Or are you going to turn away rather than watch when a neighbor, or a family member is brutalized for standing up to them?
I will die on my feet rather than give up my God Given Rights.
Stand with us now against the tyranny. We pay their salaries, we have made them rich and they have nothing but disdain for us. We have elected them to represent us, yet they disrespect us, call us names, lie about us and treat us like servants who do not deserve to be heard.
They have no power without us. They have no Love in them. Their hearts are stone. Greed and Power is their God. We are what they fear the most. A citizenry who thinks for itself and rejects their policies. They look down their noses at us. Without us, how would they eat?, who would build their cars, fill their grocery stores, grow their food, teach their children, make their clothes, repair their furnaces, fill their coffee cups, mine the gold they wear?
They can not survive in this world without US! We are the POWERFUL ONES! Time to stand up and remind them that WE THE PEOPLE are in charge of our lives!
God Bless ALL of the world's people! Together, we will WIN!
